Storage & Preparation
What makes your challah different from store-bought challah?
Our traditional challah is baked fresh using time-honored recipes with premium ingredients and careful attention to texture and flavor. Each loaf is crafted in small batches to ensure consistent quality, resulting in the soft, rich challah that makes Shabbat meals special—not the dense, preservative-laden versions found in most grocery stores.
How fresh is your challah when it arrives?
Our challah is baked fresh and shipped immediately to ensure you receive it at peak quality. We coordinate timing so your challah arrives just in time for Shabbat or your special occasion, delivering that fresh-from-the-bakery taste and texture your family expects.
Do you make both braided and round challah?
Yes, we offer both traditional braided challah for regular Shabbat use and round challah for Rosh Hashanah and the High Holy Days. We also offer raisin varieties for those who prefer the added sweetness and traditional holiday touch.
What kosher certifications do your breads carry?
All our challah and breads are Star-K certified and meet multiple kosher requirements: Pareve (dairy-free), Pas Yisroel (baked by observant Jews), Yoshen (using approved grain), and we perform hafrashat challah (the mitzvah of separating challah from the dough).
What's the best way to keep challah fresh until Shabbat?
If your challah arrives Thursday or Friday, simply leave it in its original packaging at room temperature. This timing ensures optimal freshness for both Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch without any special storage needed.
How do I freeze challah for longer storage?
Slice the challah first, then wrap tightly in plastic wrap and place in freezer bags. This allows you to remove individual slices as needed. Frozen sliced challah can be toasted directly from frozen or thawed at room temperature in minutes.
